Geography
Geography as a subject that is packed with delight and wonder. It helps children gain a better understanding of our world’s people, places and environments, and the interactions between them. Geography encourages our children to see a World away from their own and develop aspirations and change. Geography helps children to understand how and why places are changing, and to better imagine, predict and work towards what the future may hold.
Through our curriculum, children will develop into explorers who are able to accept and welcome differences between other places and the people who inhabit those places. We aim to excite children about the possibilities of what the world has in store for them to explore and experience. Children should move to their next provision with a stronger idea of their own sense of their place in the world, both culturally and physically.
Trips will be used to support and encourage further learning for each year group. These trips really help create excitement and a natural curiosity about topics. Our Geography curriculum celebrates different cultures and backgrounds through the topics studied and links with other subjects to support and underpin this knowledge.
