Design and technology helps children to think logically about solutions or new ideas and express these through a creation. It helps children to put different ideas together to create something for a specific purpose. It encourages children to develop skills and become confident in using these skills now and in the future in the real world.

 Design and Technology allows children who have found more academic subjects difficult to have an outlet where they can be positive and showcase their own skills and achievements. This success allows them to build in confidence and develop these skills in other subjects.
